Roots to Reading
Roots to Reading is an Orton-Gillingham-based emergent literacy intervention curriculum that provides teachers, reading specialists, literacy coaches and SLPs the tools needed to provide effective targeted literacy intervention to at-risk Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Transitional First Grade students. The curriculum is also appropriate to use with older students who lack the foundational skills required to become an efficient reader.
Roots to Reading targets five critical interrelated domains of early literacy achievement: 1) phonological awareness, 2) print concepts, 3) alphabet knowledge, 4) handwriting, and 5) narrative and literate language.
Roots to Reading Curriculum pack includes:Roots to Reading Teacher’s Manual, reproducible Student Pages packet, Phonological Awareness Manipulative Packet, Grapheme Deck, and a Roots to Reading game packet.
